macOS asks to access Documents, or DevHub says a folder cannot be opened
Symptom
macOS asks whether DevHub may access your Documents folder, your Desktop, your Downloads or an external disk. Or a banner says “One folder cannot be opened”, and nothing in it is indexed or watched.
Cause
macOS asks before an application reads those places. If the question was refused, DevHub cannot read the folder, and an edit there does not appear in DevHub. A permission granted to a running application does not always reach it.
Solution
- Open Settings > MCP Server > Folder access. It lists every folder DevHub could not read and why.
- Click Open Privacy & Security and allow DevHub.
- Click Check again. If the folder is still refused, click Restart DevHub.
