# Settings reference

> Every setting of DevHub in one list: section, name, what it does and its default or range.

Settings is in the System group of the sidebar. Switches apply at once and fields wait for **Save**. For the way each section works, see [Settings](/devhub/features/settings/index.md).

## General

| Setting      | What it does                                                                                                        | Default                       |

## Appearance and accessibility

## MCP Server

| Setting                        | What it does                                                                                                                           |
| ------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Start MCP with the application | Starts the server from the saved configuration on launch, once you are signed in.                                                      |
| Address and port               | Where the server listens on this computer. Leave it unless another program needs the port. Another address exposes MCP to the network. |
| Allowed MCP tools              | A switch for each tool. A disabled tool disappears from discovery and is rejected if called directly.                                  |
| Knowledge and RAG              | A local model server, the embedding model and the batch size for search by meaning.                                                    |
| AI Context queue budget        | Tokens, from 1,000 to 200,000. Empty means 16,000. Only a warning, the queue is never blocked.                                         |

## Updates

## Privacy and local data

| Setting                  | What it does                                                | Range or values                                             |

| What to keep of the task | How much of an agent's task the run log keeps.              | First line, only its length, or all of it, secrets scrubbed |
| Keep runs for (days)     | Older entries in the agent run log disappear by themselves. | 1 to 3650                                                   |
